Step 1

To get started, head to app.letter.co and tap on Sign In to access your Letter account.

Step 2

If this is your first time at Letter, tap on Open an Account.

If you already have a Letter account, or started creating a Letter account and were called away, tap on sign-in to continue where you left off.

Enter some basic information to create your account.

The email address and phone number you use will be tied to your Letter account and will be used for multi-factor authentication (MFA).

If you currently have a Letter waitlist account, step 1 will be completed. Simply tap continue to move to the next screen.

 Tap continue.

Enter your personal information.

This will be your date of birth, social security number, and street address.

When complete, tap Continue.

A little side note: while this is a business account, in order to be a signer on the account, your personal information must be verified.

Every account, business or personal, must have a verified signer on it. This is a U.S. banking regulation.

Tap on Business to continue opening your business account.

Step 1

Enter your business information.

This includes the name of the business, the legal structure, the tax status, and the EIN/Tax ID number, as well as the state of incorporation.

Step 2

This is the information that Letter needs to verify your business identity, and is part of U.S. banking regulation.

Step 3

Upload your Certificate of Incorporation, Partnership Agreement, Certificate of Formation or Operating Agreement, depending on the legal structure of your business.

You only need to upload one of these documents.

For corporation's we need the Certificate of Incorporation. For a partnership, we need the partnership agreement. For an LLC we need the Operating Agreement.

Step 4

Upload your EIN Confirmation letter.

This is the document the IRS sent when you applied for an EIN. We will need a copy of this paper, as it shows the EIN attached to your business name.

Step 5

Once you have completed uploading your forms, tap continue.

Step 1

Add all owners and officers of the business who will be utilizing this account.

You must add at least one person with 25% or more ownership in the business, or at least one officer.

Step 2

Tap to add yourself as an officer or owner.

Step 3

Tap to add one or more others as officers or owners.

If you chose to add someone else as an officer, a screen will pop up to add their personal information. You will need their full name, title, percent ownership, phone number, email address, date of birth, social, and personal street address.

Once you have entered this information tap save officer to continue.

Step 4

Choose the title of the officer and percentage of ownership, and tap add officer.

This is a U.S. banking regulation. Any signers on a business account must be personally verified themselves. All officers and owners that are added will also be signers.

After you have read and agreed to the terms a check mark will appear next to the bubble for that section.

Tap on Account Terms.

This page contains Letter's terms and conditions for opening the account. Please read through and tap Agree and Continue at the bottom of the page.

Tap on Banking Agreement.

This is the agreement between you and Letter and is required for Letter to provide banking services to you.

This document outlines Letter's privacy policy.

Please read through and tap Agree and Continue at the bottom of the page.

When all 3 bubbles are checked, tap Continue.

Upload a Photo ID

This must be a valid drivers license, state issued photo ID, or passport. Upload a picture of the front and a picture of the back.

Add Face Scan

Face Scan is used to confirm your identity and enhance the security of your account. It is especially useful for securely authorizing large dollar transactions.

Step 3

Verify your Email Address

If you have previously verified your email address, this step will have a checkmark next to it, and you won't need to verify it again.

Step 4

Verify your Phone Number

If you have previously verified your phone number, this step will have a checkmark next to it, and you won't need to verify it again.

Step 5

Enable MFA

If you have previously set-up MFA, this step will have a checkmark next to it, and you won't need to set it up again.

Step 6

Tap the Finish and Open Account button.

Your account is almost ready. It will take a couple of minutes to complete, so sit tight. We'll automatically update this page once it's ready.
